HImmelis and Yeg Boss Babes

6:00 PM  8:30 PM

The Woodrack Cafe : 7603 109 Street NorthwestEdmonton

DO YOU WANT TO CRAFT THE CUTEST HIMMELI EVER?!
WELL NOW IS YOUR CHANCE. COME NETWORK WITH THE BOSS BABE COMMUNITY IN YEG AND CREATE YOUR OWN MASTERPIECE.

Sometimes you just need to use your hands and create something beautiful, it does something to the soul.

Our ancestors used their hands to make everything we have in this world, so creating with our hands is a deeply rooted tradition and art form.  Our hands are the bridge that brings the manifestation of our ideas and imaginations to life.

Himmelis are no exception to this theory as they originated in Finland hundreds of years ago, where they would take Rye straw and create these beautiful ornate mobiles believed to bring prosperity to life.

IN THIS WORKSHOP

Treena will walk you through handcrafting your very own Himmeli. There is no crafting experience necessary, as you are guided through stringing your choice of copper or brass (gold) tubing onto fishing line and tying knots.  Seems easy enough right?!?

Treena’s hope is to inspire creativity by touching on the art of using your hands to create and evoke a sense of curiosity through Himmelis visual presence.  While doing this collectively we remember our connection to each other through art in sharing this experience together.

We will have a short break for a chance to network with the other attendees, as well have a chance to check out the wine specials & snacks available at the amazing Woodrack Cafe
